Pied

This page will be set aside for markings only. There are a vast array of pied marking in Pigeons. Most of what we will feature on this page are those markings which breed true or at least true enough to have their own classification.

Magpie Marked
Magpie marked birds show white heads and wings and are sometimes mistakenly called Saddles.

Whiteside
Whitesides are a colored bird with solid white wing shields.

Baldhead
True Baldheads should show a white head, white flights, and a white tail with the rest of the bird colored.

Hungarian Marked
Hungarian marked birds have their own distinct markings as shown in the picture above.

Bodymark
Bodymarks are a solid colored bird with a pure white tail. The opposite is Tailmakr which is a solid white bird with a colored tail.

Saddle Marked
Saddle marked birds are a solid white bird with colored wing shields. They are the opposite of Whiteside.

Saddle Marked
Voorburg Shield Croppers and other shield marked breeds are the same as Saddles.

Bellneck
Bellneck is a form of Pied where the bird is almost entirely white with just a patch on the back of the neck that is colored. Bellnecks get their name from this markig which resebles a bell shape patch of color.

Heavy Pied
This is a good example of a non classified Pied marked bird.

Badge Marked
Badge marked birds have a big range of possibilities, but are generally regarded as birds with any white in the head that is not Baldhead or Beard Marked.
