Color Chart: Ringneck Dove Colors

Ringneck Doves

This page is designed very similar to the Color Chart for the Pigeons. As I am able to acquire the colors not pictured here, they will be posted. Please remember two things when dealing with Ringneck Dove colors:
1.) There can be slight variations to each color listed.
2.) Some colors are very subtle in appearance making it difficult to get good, clear pictures.

You can apply some of the same principles of Pigeon genetics to Doves. For example, there are three basic colors in Doves; Tangerine, Wild, and Rosy.
In order of dominance, Tangerine would be compared to Ash Red in Pigeons, Wild to Blue, and Rosy to Brown.

Tangerine Pearl
This is actually Homozygous Tangerine, regardless of what it's bred to or the sex, will produce 100% Tangerines of some kind.

Orange Pearl (Dilute Homozygous Tangerine)

Wild Type

Blond or Fawn (Dilute Wild Type)

Rosy

Peach (Dilute Rosy)

Mosaic
An extremely rare mutation same as Mosaic in Pigeons.

White
True White Doves show some slight cream coloring on the undersides of the tail and may show a slightly darker neck ring. They also have orange eyes.

Wild Pied

Fawn or Blond Pied

Bulleyed White
BEW's are simply Pied birds that show no colored feathers. These birds have a dark beak and dark eyes. These are also pure white with no blemishes or discoloring.
