Young
Reduced
Immature Reduced often come out near White with
Blue patches. Most of the time, these moult into Spread
Reduced. One of the more drastic changes in color after the first
moult.

Reduced
Blue Bar Roller
Mot times, Reduced Barred birds show more of a
pink colored bar and a softer Blue coloring throughout.

Dominant
Opal Blue Bar Roller
Picture is for comparison with the Reduced Blue
Bar at left. Notice the more even coloring of the Reduced.
Also, the Reduced will have a darker tail bar where the Opal will have a
lighter to White tail bar. |

Reduced
Blue Check Roller
This would be one of the darkest varieties.
Notice in Reduced Checks and Bars that the tail bar is dark, which
distinguishes it from Opal. |

Another young
Reduced Black Roller
Notice the darker Blue patches on a much
lighter silvery color.

This
bird is actually a Spread Reduced
This bird is showing Bars although it is
Spread. It is quite rare to find birds like this as several
factors must come together just right to create a visual gem like this
one.

This
bird is a combination of Reduced and Homozygous Indigo Bar on a Blue
Base color.

Reduced
Grizzle Roller
A combination of Reduced, Grizzle, and Spread
on a Black Base color. Notice the difference between the Grizzle
and Pied (right). Grizzle affects individual feathers and most of
the bird where Pied shows big patches of color and White.

Reduced
Pied Roller
A combination of Reduced, Pied, and Spread on a
Black base color. This is a beautiful expression of Reduced Pied!!

Reduced
Brown
This is a very rare combination. Some
have even said that Reduced Brown is impossible and that true Reduced
Brown do not hatch or, if they do hatch, don't live long.

Reduced Black Roller hen
This effect with the White Bars showing through is the result of the
Reduced being on a bird that is not pure for Spread. This bird is
Spread masking Bar pattern, thus allowing the White Bars to show
through.
